Course objectives :

Foster an inclusive work culture that recognizes and values the potential of young individuals with special educational needs and limited intelligence in Hong Kong.

Educate HR practitioners and other professional executives on the best practices for creating SEN-friendly environments with a systematic approach, focusing on talent acquisition, development & retention, work design & allocation, assessment, and remuneration, e.g. professionals who serve SEN youth for career coaching and planning, and frontline people from the hospitality industries.

Raise company-wide awareness of the importance of inclusivity for SEN individuals.

Course Lecturer and Background:
Dr. Delores Lau, CHE®
Dr. Delores Lau is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in education, special educational needs (SEN), and hospitality. She is a certified SEN education specialist, the founder of DAX Education Centre Limited and the Chief Executive Officer of Dax Child Development and Therapy Centre (Social Enterprise), a leading provider of quality education and support services in Hong Kong.
Dr. Lau has studied in Hong Kong, the USA, and Switzerland, earning a doctorate in Hospitality Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her early career includes hands-on experience in the hotel industry, along with hotel training qualifications and a university lectureship in hotel management. She is also a Certified Hospitality Educator.
Dr. Lau's passion for inclusive education is evident in her work with DAX, which operates three campuses in Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long. DAX offers systematic learning improvement programs, ensuring quality education and support for students of all abilities. Her commitment to inclusive education has garnered recognition from the Hong Kong Dyslexia Association and accreditation from the International Dyslexia Association. Additionally, Dr. Lau is a certified instructor in positive psychology, specializing in addressing specific learning difficulties in reading and writing.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Lau actively promotes inclusive education through special education seminars for community childcare centres. Her dedication to social responsibility has earned DAX the prestigious ESG CONNECT Gold Certificate from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA), making it the first special education service organization to receive this honor.

劉顯婷博士是一位卓有成就的專業人士,在教育、特殊教育需求 (SEN) 和酒店業方面擁有多元化背景。她是認證特殊教育需求教育專家、韻澄教育中心有限公司創辦人及芯澄兒童發展及治療中心(社會企業)首席執行官,該中心是香港領先的優質教育及支援服務提供者。
劉博士曾在香港、美國和瑞士學習,並獲得香港理工大學酒店管理博士學位。她的早期職業生涯包括酒店業的實踐經驗、酒店培訓資格和大學酒店管理講師經驗。她也是一名認證的飯店教育工作者。
劉博士對融合教育的熱情體現在她與韻澄教育中心的合作中,韻澄教育中心在荃灣、屯門和元朗設有三個校區。 韻澄教育中心 提供系統性的學習改進計劃,確保為各種能力的學生提供優質教育和支援。她對包容性教育的承諾獲得了香港閱讀障礙協會的認可和國際閱讀障礙協會的認可。此外,劉博士是一位正向心理學認證講師,專門解決閱讀和寫作中的特定學習困難。
在課堂之外,劉博士也透過為社區托兒中心舉辦特殊教育研討會,積極推動全納教育。她對社會責任的奉獻精神為韻澄教育中心贏得了香港品質保證局 (HKQAA) 頒發的久負盛名的 ESG CONNECT 金章證書,使其成為首個獲此殊榮的特殊教育服務機構。
